Common Questions
What are excess foreclosure funds?
Surplus funds may remain when a foreclosure or tax sale brings in more money than is needed to satisfy the amounts owed and sale-related costs. Those remaining funds may belong to the former property owner or another rightful claimant.
How does the recovery process work?
We research the claim, verify available funds and ownership, determine the applicable claim requirements, coordinate the necessary documentation and submission, and follow the claim through the recovery process. When professional or legal assistance is required, we coordinate that as part of the process.
How much does your service cost?
Our standard fee is 30% of the funds successfully recovered, subject to applicable law and the terms of your written agreement. You will know the fee before deciding to move forward.
Do I pay anything upfront?
No. There are no upfront service fees. If we do not successfully recover funds for you, you do not owe us a recovery fee.
How long does the recovery process take?
There is no single timeline. Processing times vary depending on the county or agency holding the funds, the type of sale, claim requirements, ownership issues, and whether additional legal review is needed. We keep you updated as your claim moves through the process.
Do I need an attorney?
Not every claim requires an attorney. Some counties or situations do require attorney involvement, particularly when ownership, estates, competing claims, or court proceedings are involved. When legal assistance is necessary, we can coordinate with an appropriate attorney as part of the recovery process.
What information do you need from me?
We usually begin with basic information such as your name, the property address, and information that helps us confirm your connection to the property. If we identify a potential claim, we will explain what additional documentation is needed.
Are you a government agency or law firm?
No. Get Foreclosure Funds is an independent excess-funds recovery service. We are not affiliated with any government agency and do not provide legal advice or represent ourselves as a law firm.
What happens if my claim is not approved?
Not every potential claim results in a recovery. Eligibility and payment are determined by the agency, court, or other authority responsible for the funds. If we do not successfully recover funds for you, you do not owe us a recovery fee.
